What To Expect


  • Early morning Bristol flights will bring you to Dubrovnik airport in under 3 hours. From there you’ll be picked up and brought to Molunat, which is between Dubrovnik and Montenegro, and is ecologically preserved, which means the best natural energy you could dream of.

The Villa is run by a local chap called Ivo, who is a keen diver and local fisherman. Most mornings he is out on the water catching fish for lunch and having grown up in Molunat, he knows all there is to know about the local area.

As reflected by the cost, this isn’t a luxury retreat, but it is very comfortable, clean and has everything you need. In fact, it’s where I stayed when I first arrived in Molunat, and it has held a special place in my heart ever since.

The villa is located up a small hill, just minutes walk from the beach pictured above, and enjoys spectacular views across the bay. It is nestled amongst orange and pomegranate trees, with a nice yoga deck overlooking the sea as well as some wild spaces in the gardens and by the water.

You will have an apartment to yourself, although there is an option to share with a friend and save £50 per person. This is a larger apartment which sleeps upto 4, but we like to allow for plenty of space.

About The Area

There is something magical about this place, and it’s somewhere to come to relax and rejuvenate in nature, but it’s also ideal if you want to explore, or try out one of the many activities on offer there.

It’s not on the tourist trail, therefore it maintains it’s natural beauty, and everyone there has a respect for nature, all the land being ecologically preserved.

The village is based around a coastline stretching a mile or so, with many little bathing coves to find somewhere just for you. The sea is crystal clear, and Molunat has it’s own micro-climate as it is protected by the nearby island.

Within walking distance is a well-stocked supermarket, but locals get much of their produce from the sea, and the land, and the nearby butchers at Gruda. Eating outside on the terraces overlooking the bay is just part of everyday life, and you’ll find an abundance of foods to forage.

There are two restaurants in Molunat, both of which are fantastic quality but reasonably priced, and situated right on the water. Only the freshest ingredients are used, and the local wine is the best I have tried in Croatia.

If you enjoy time in the water, this place will not disappoint. The local beaches are small, but clean, and one of the best beaches in Europe is a about half an hour away, a must-do as a day trip. Wild swimming at its best here.

For the more adventurous, there is a small watersports centre located right in Molunat. Run by a friendly young woman called Klara, you can do snorkelling, diving, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, or take a fishing trip to the nearly island.

One of the evenings we will go there for a fish bar be cue right by the water. Fishing is part and parcel of everyday life here, and it is a must when in Molunat.

Out and About

There is a regular and reliable bus taking you daily to the impressive city of Dubrovnik, where you can explore the old town, walk the city walls, and even ride the cable car to the top of Mount Srd.

In the height of summer, it is pretty hectic, so May is perfect.

Other great places to visit nearby are: Lokrum island, where Game of Thrones was filmed, the Elafiti islands, the chic town of Cavtat, pretty Mlini, and the peninsula of Prevlaka.

An easy day trip is across to Montenegro, the town of Herzeg Novi is only half an hour away, but the journey itself is worth it.

For any of these options, I can help you with transport, whether by local bus or taxi. Everything is reasonably priced and accessible.

Mindful Movement in nature, based on The Five Elements….

Each day we will get up and move first. Maybe a little hot water and lemon to kickstart the system.

We will do a short wake-up session, to salute the sun, but also oxygenate the body using The Wim Hof method.

A light breakfast will provide a bit of fuel for the next session, which will be a short walk away by the beach so we can follow with a swim, and then a larger lunch.

The yoga is designed to bring the body back into its natural state. You will be learning as you go along, and following a process to help you “rewild”!

All the sessions are optional, some nights there will be a sunset session, or perhaps a session on the island and in other wild spaces, depending on the conditions and what you as a group would like to do.

This is Wild Yoga, Gillie-style, which means it’s accessible to everyone, appreciating the diversity in bodies, and it’s all about feeling good. It is non-competitive, with the focus on healing and energising, but that doesn’t mean to say you won’t build strength and get some results. As well as traditional yoga, it incorporates primal movement, mindfulness, somatics, martial arts, and even some dance!

I invite you to go with the flow, and embrace a new way of moving, that feels soooooo good!

To support the movement you will learn techniques from mindfulness, meditation, pranayama, and ways of eating and living according to the laws of nature. This is an education as well as an experience.

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT – Book and pay deposit of £150 by August 6th 2020 and get it for £395

Included in your accommodation will be breakfasts and some snacks, and the rest is self-catering, however, many nights we will cook together, or get food from the local restaurant, and split the costs – usually 5 to 10 euros per person.

If, however, you want to purchase your own food and stay within a specific budget or diet, that is up to you.

This allows for flexibility in eating out and catering for yourself when you are out and about. The kitchen is well equipped and I stock it up with all the basics before you arrive.

And that’s it. The balance is due 6 weeks before the retreat, but if you prefer to pay the full amount that is it all secured and you get the choice of apartment.
